HISTORY

The Allen Kiwanis Club was chartered with thirty-one members on Thursday, March 24, 1988, at the K-Bob's Steak House in Plano, Texas. The Kiwanis Club of McKinney was the Sponsoring club and Jerry Burleson, an officer of Allen National Bank, was the first club president. Robert "Bob" Cowles, Governor of Texas Oklahoma District, presented the charter. The first meetings were conducted in the fellowship hall of the First Christian Church. Our motto is "Serving the Children of the World."  The Allen Kiwanis Club meets each Thursday at the Ralph & Kacoo’s restaurant in Allen, Texas. Meetings are at 12:00 noon.  Visitors are welcome.
