PROJECTS Members
are asked to bring school supplies for the Allen Fill the Bus Project to the
July 29 & August 5 meetings. For more information about the project and
items needed, click HERE. Members
are asked to bring peanut butter, macaroni and cheese and cash for milk to
meetings for the ACO Student Nutritional Aid Program for kids at home for the
summer. JUNE
PROJECTS Members
brought food items to club meetings for the ACO Student Summer Nutritional
Aid Program. Food is needed due to
kids being at home for the summer.
Debbie Stout is coordinating this project. We
participated in the June 26 Allen USA Celebration, assisting in the operation
of the bounce houses. Sandy McNair
coordinated this event. 2010
GOLF TOURNAMENT The
annual Ron Gentry Golf Tournament will be held at 1:00, Thursday, October 21
at Twin Creeks Golf Club. Everyone
should be signing up golfers and sponsors.

CELEBRATION JUNE 17 We
had a celebration at our June 17 club meeting honoring Lloyd Schara for 55
years of perfect attendance in Kiwanis.
Lloyd has been a member of several clubs, but has maintained perfect
attendance throughout his Kiwanis career.
Special entertainment, speakers and guests were lined up for this
event. BRING
ON THE FLAGS Flag
Chair Gary Davies announced recently that a $10 commission will be paid to
any of your family or friends that sign up a new flag customer. Remember to consider business locations
as well as homes. KIDS
AGAINST HUNGER PROJECT A major
ongoing project of our club is the packaging of special dehydrated nutritious
meals for malnourished children and families in a remote region of
Honduras. So far over 175,000 meals
have been packaged and shipped by our club.

KIWANIS
INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION The 2010
Kiwanis International convention will be held in Las Vegas June 24-27. For
details of the convention CLICK HERE. If you are interested in representing our
club at the convention, contact Jeri or Sandy. RECYCLE
KIWANIS MAGAZINES Members should
bring their Kiwanis magazine to a
club meeting and deposit it in the box provided. The magazines will be placed in the waiting
rooms of physicians and other businesses in the Allen area to inform people
about Kiwanis and our club. FLAG PROGRAM Our club
places large American flags in front of homes and businesses on six patriotic
holidays a year for a $50 donation.

DIRECTORS MEETINGS Our Board
meets on the second Wednesday of every month, 12:00 noon, at the offices
of Allen Economic Development, One
Allen Center, 700 Central Expressway So., Ste 210. All members are welcome to attend. AISD
BACKGROUND CHECKS In order to
volunteer in any way at the Allen schools, a Criminal Background Check (CBC)
is required. It is a very
simple process and can be done on line.
