Service Projects – 2004

October 12: Dinner provided for Journey of Hope

January: Collected new shoes for Buchner Shoes for Orphaned Souls program

February 13: Presented puppets and puppet tree to the new Allen Public Library

February: 26 pairs of shoes were delivered to Buckner Orphan Care International

February: 20 handmade blankets were delivered to the Kiwanis Linus Project

February: Four sessions with Head Start classes – Mardi Gras & Valentine parties and two reading sessions

March 19: Quarterly trash pick-up on McDermott

March: 75 small toys were sent to Iraq for children of Iraqi police officer trainees

April: Items were collected for the C.I.T.Y. House garage sale

April: An additional set of puppets was donated to the Allen Public Library

May 24: Provided and served dinner for Journey of Hope

May: Awarded scholarships to graduating Key Club seniors

May: Contributed to the After-prom party

May: Delivered 60 books to C.I.T.Y. House

June 4: Presented 12 computers, printer and software to Allen Parks Youth Center

April 20: Day of the Child Celebration at Allen Public Library

May 3:  Hosted CITY House kids to Frisco Roughrider game

June 28:  Food drive for the Food Pantry

July:  Sponsored Movie Night for the CITY House youth and provided refreshments

October:  Four teams of special needs children participated in Allen Kiwanis Angel League T-ball

November:  Winter coats were provided to children who need them at Boyd and Olson schools

December::  200 books were provided to the ECI Christmas party

February 27:  Helped at the Special Olympics Gala & Auction

March 27:  Participated in Eggcellent Family Adventure sponsored by City of Allen

Scholarships totaling $4000 were presented to three graduating Allen HS Key Club members, Chrisherlyn Dumrique, Suneet Flora and Lorrie Raines.  Awards were presented at a club meeting where the students outlined their college plans for next year.

June:  Contributed to the ACO Nutritional Aid Program for kids at home for the summer
